Manchester United DID make a deadline day signing – a new scout from atletico madrid

Manchester United landed Atletico Madrid’s chief scout Gerardo Guzman on deadline day as Jose Mourinho continues to overhaul his backroom team.

Spanish newspaper AS reports that Guzman was in charge of finding players under the age of 23 for Atletico but will now take up his new post at Old Trafford.
In August, Mourinho made two additions to United’s non-playing staff as Kieran McKenna joined from Tottenham to work with the Under-23s side, while Arsenal’s former scout Sandro Orlandelli was also brought in.
But Atletico have moved quickly to replace Guzman, with Natanael Cano joining from San Fernando, who are in the third tier of Spanish football.
While there we no marquee signings by United on deadline day, three young players left the club.
James Weir, a 21-year-old midfielder who made his senior debut in the 3-2 win over Arsenal last season, joined Hull City on a permanent deal.
Dean Henderson joined Grimsby Town on loan, while Joel Castro Pereira moved to Belenenses on a temporary deal.
