Ex-FCT minister reportedly loses 4 houses worth N872m to EFCC

It was further reported that Bala is currently being investigated for fraud ranging from alleged fictitious contracts of about N1billion to illegal land allocations.

Ex-Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has reportedly lost four houses worth N872million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).


According to a report by The Nation Newspapers, the houses were seized from the former minister and his son, Shamsudeen Bala.
The EFCC reportedly obtained an interim forfeiture order to confiscate a N650 million worth property at 1 and 3, Mariam Mukhtar Street, Asokoro, Abuja as welll as Shamsudeen's three duplexes costing about N222 million in the Apo Area of Abuja.
It was further reported that Bala is currently being investigated for fraud ranging from alleged fictitious contracts of about N1billion, allocation of 12 choice plots worth billions of naira and 37 other commercial plots of land worth about N8 billion to Tariq Hammoud.
Meanwhile, Shamsudeen, Hammoud and top directors of the Federal Capital Territory administration that include Treasury head, Ibrahim Bomoi; Land head, Babayo Mainasara, and Abuja Geographical Information Service head (AGIS), Ms Jamila Tangaza, were reportedly quizzed by the anti-graft agency over their involvement in the alleged fraud levelled against Bala during his administration.
