Dr. Dre will not face charges after Malibu incident

Los Angeles (CNN)Rapper, producer and business mogul Dr. Dre will not face misdemeanor gun charges stemming from an incident that happened outside his Malibu home earlier this week, a Los Angeles District Attorney spokesperson told CNN.
Dr. Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, was facing a possible misdemeanor charge of exhibiting a concealable firearm in public. A spokesperson for the DA says they've declined to pursue charges "due to a lack of sufficient evidence."

    On Monday, Dre was briefly detainedby police outside his home after a man who was blocking his driveway alleged Dre had threatened him and shown a gun.
    Police declined to pursue any further action against Dre after finding no weapon, and released him at the scene. The caller, however, initiated a citizen's arrest and Dre was given a citation with an order to appear in court if the DA pursued charges
